Busy Spring For Wolves All Stars

A Trio Of Money-Raising Dates

Eyes on the ball for Simon Dunkley in the colours of Wolves All Stars.

Wolves All Stars are back in action with three spring fixtures in quick succession, the first of them this weekend.

They play Alma Vets, from the Central Warwickshire Veterans League, at Willenhall Town’s Noose Lane ground this Sunday (April 15) to raise funds for both the 442 Charity and Help For Heroes.

The 442 Charity supports local people with sports injuries and kick-off is 2.30pm.

A fortnight later, on Sunday, April 29 (2.30pm start), the side take on a Countryside West Midlands team at Lye Meadow, the home of Alvechurch Football Club.

That game is being organised by Simon Dunkley, who has been a staunch All Stars supporter and player for many years and been responsible for setting up various fund-raising events.

The beneficiary on this occasion is the Katie Pritchard Family Trust. Katie is 11 and was last year diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. The two-year treatment plan is costing £10,000.

Finally, on Thursday, May 17, the All Stars kick off at 7.30pm against Walsall All Stars at the Banks’s Stadium. This is a repeat of the fixture played in 2011 and an announcement will be made in the near future on which charities will be supported.

A diary date for fans in the meantime is a week tonight (April 18) when An Evening with Wolves Legends takes place at Hednesford Town Football Club.

Matt Murray, Kenny Hibbitt and Steve Daley will be present and the £20 admission covers food, a raffle and an auction of memorabilia. Funds raised from Auction will be going to Compton Hospice.

The start at Keys Park is at 7.30pm.
