Breaking New Ground

We’re Hitting The Heights – Many Thanks!

We at Wolves Heroes have never been slaves to the many figures that are available in the IT world to check on ‘traffic’ through and around websites.

For those who wish to monitor how well seen their words and photos are, information is at hand about where users are logging in from, how many pages they click on during one stay, how long they remain on for and numerous other indicators.

We have always been happy merely to inform, update and even entertain our readers with tales of what former Wolves favourites are up to these days.

But we have recently done some more detailed checking at last and found that thanks are very much in order to our loyal following for taking our ‘stats’ to a whole new level since the turn of the year.

We are delighted to report that Wolves Heroes, which has generally been much better read since its expert modernisation and rebranding by Gloucestershire-based Wolves fan Chris Richards two or three years ago, has had more than 20,000 visitors in the first month of 2026 – with a day and a half still to go.

That, unless we are very much mistaken, is a record for this site and one we are very proud of. So please excuse this uncharacteristic triumpet-blowing.

We have averaged around 700 visits per day in the last four weeks or so, including 884 on Monday and 962 on Tuesday before a dip to 665 on Wednesday.

Mike Stowell – illuminating thoughts as ever.

Were supporters still catching up after the weekend on our story about the nightmare 1984-85 season under Tommy Docherty?

If they were, they had a happier story to browse on Tuesday when we posted our face-to-face interview in Plymouth with Mike Stowell – one that helped generate visitor numbers of close to four figures.

In addition, there is further pride to be taken from the fact we have had more than 1,000 visitors a day at least twice in recent weeks.

We are extremely grateful to all those who show a regular interest in our efforts and ask that you continue to spread the word among Wolves friends. And just one final piece of food for thought…..the analysis shows we are very well read in China!

*Good luck to Dave Edwards after his appointment yesterday as joint assistant head coach at Shrewsbury in a new backroom team headed by ex-Brackley boss Gavin Cowan.
