Carl On Tour

Tonight’s The (Last) Night For Molineux Signing

Carl Ikeme is continuing his hectic promotional tour by appearing today at a third book-signing session.

The highly popular former Wolves keeper is back at Molineux this teatime (Thursday) to autograph copies of his autobiography ‘Why Not Me?’ and no doubt pose for photographs with club shop customers.

And the meetings he is cherishing with supporters are coming on top of a host of media interviews that have helped get sales off to a very brisk start.

Ikeme was the subject of a 50-minute interview recently on BBC 5Live and had a home visit from Ian Winter and a Midlands Today camera crew.

He has also appeared on talkSPORT, in the club programme and on their website, been featured in the Express & Star on both a serialisation and interview basis and done pieces which haven’t gone out yet with Sky Sports Soccer Saturday, Black Country Radio, BBC WM’s Adrian Goldberg and the Daily Express.

On top of that, Joe Hart chose him to star in an already recorded podcast, the Shrewsbury-born former Manchester City and England keeper having been one of the early visitors when Ikeme was in hospital for leukaemia treatment.

We at Wolves Heroes can recommend ‘Why Not Me?’ (£18.99) wholeheartedly, having played a supporting role in the production process.

We have read and re-read – every one of the 176 pages and can confirm that the content is extremely powerful.

It isn’t always an easy read; it is a cancer recovery story after all. But it is utterly inspirational and a shining example in how to deal with the ravages of a life-threatening illness.

There is also brilliant insight from inside the dressing rooms Ikeme was proud to be part of and a reminder of the protracted loan journey he took before establishing himself as the no 1 at Wolves.

Not forgetting the eye-opening time he had with Nigeria on the international stage – a late opportunity that was sadly snatched away from him.

Tonight’s signing session is from 5pm to 7pm in the Molineux club shop……we know he would be thrilled to see you!

For anyone unable to get there and who may be having difficulty in buying, we have a small number of copies and will be glad to help if we can. Please hit the Contact button at the top right of the page to email us or ring 07734-440095.
