Some dates for the diaries of Wolves supporters – especially those whose sporting interests stretch beyond only football…….

The third Steve Bull Foundation winter golf day takes place at Worfield on Thursday, February 27, with the cost for a team of four (including a goody bag, bacon rolls, tea/coffee and a presentation dinner) set at £250. All the information is available from Steve Bull Events – or we will happily provide more details on request.

The fairways are also set to take a pounding with the second staging of the First4Staff Golf Classic on Thursday, May 22, again at prestigious Astbury Hall.

Twenty-six teams competed last year, when £10,000 was raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, and the theme this time will be pink, with organiser Jason Guy’s partner Lucy having suffered from the disease.

A host of former Wolves players will be in attendance and prices start at £295 for a team – that figure to include a champagne breakfast, a goody bag, 18 holes of golf with prizes for the more successful, on-course refreshments, various competitions, a two-course barbeque and entertainment by Steve Daley.

The day is again being sponsored by Zeel Solutions, a close partner of First4Staff, and we are once more happy to act as go-betweens for those seeking further information.

Two football matches with a strong charity ‘angle’ are also planned for the coming weeks, both involving Wolves All Stars.

The side are in action at Pattingham on Sunday, March 16, in a game being played in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

And they can be seen again a month and a half later when they appear at Castlecroft on Sunday, April 27 (2pm kick-off), with Breakthrough Breast Cancer the beneficiaries once more.

A good night out……

More details of the team’s commitments can be found shortly on their www.wolvesallstars.co.uk website.

One other date of possible interest to Wolves fans is a dinner on Friday, April 4, 2014 with Don Goodman and Steve Daley in attendance.

This sportsman’s evening takes place at Darlaston Town Hall and has Wolves-supporting comedian Ian Sludge Lees as compere. The event is a fund-raiser to try to help restart Darlaston Town Football Club after they folded this season following a 139-year existence.
