Trio Booked In At Molineux

Frank Munro.

Three Wolves legends will be on book-signing duty in the main club shop before tomorrow’s home game against Blackpool.

Frank Munro, Phil Parkes and Dave Wagstaffe will be present at the stadium from 12 noon until 1.30 to autograph copies of ‘Wolverhampton Wanderers, The Complete Record.’

The weighty 496-page publication, by renowned football historian Tony Matthews, was launched this autumn by Derby-based Breedon Books and is arguably the most comprehensive reference book ever produced about the club.

The date, line-up, score, scorers and attendance are given, in season-by-season format, for every League and cup match Wolves have played in their 131-year history, as are the career records of all players to have appeared in competitive first-team fixtures for them since 1883.

There are also biography sections on players, managers and famous directors, a history of Wolves and a spotlight on famous games they have appeared in.

Unlike the Wolves Complete Record published in 1989, or its follow-up five years later, a detailed section is given to Wolves’ overseas matches since World War Two, complete with line-ups, attendances and scorers, where known.

The publication costs £19.99 and is available through all Wolves’ usual retail outlets or from Breedon Books.

Fans who wish to learn more about the title are welcome to contact www.wolvesheroes.com or click on the advert that appears on the right of this page.

Younger supporters who want to read up on Munro, Parkes and Wagstaffe – all three of them Molineux stars from the 1960s and 1970s – before possibly meeting them tomorrow can do so by visiting the Legends area of this website.
