The Rarest Day
Wolves And February 29 – It Barely Happens
European football is not only helping Wolves to make big slices of history. It’s also denying them smaller chunks of it. One of the curious by-products of a thrilling voyage of discovery that is now set to roll into Greece next month is that Wolves have missed out on playing on a date on which they have gone into action only five times in their history.

Special Anniversary Of Defender’s Big Night
It was some guest list…….George Best, Billy Wright, Bill Shankly, Joe Mercer, Gareth Edwards, John Toshack, Jack Taylor, Andy Gray and the rest of the Wolves team, even legendary Grand National winner Red Rum. Various members of one of the most successful Liverpool sides of all time were also in the audience – but not all of them.
Good News From The Doc!
Another Welcome Move On The Chart
Matt Doherty is heading towards another milestone by closing in on his latest significant climb up Wolves’ all-time record appearance-makers’ list. The phenomenal Irishman, already one of the freer-scoring wing-backs or full-backs in the club’s history – other than penalty-takers – is two games short of reaching the 250 mark for Wolves in League football alone.
Secretaries Union Going Strong
Out-Of-Office Catch-Up For Popular Duo
Two of Wolves’ longest-serving former secretaries have had another of their regular meet-ups – and invited us along as well. Keith Pearson and Richard Skirrow live on opposite sides of Stafford and have built on the relationship that came with being contemporaries in similar office at different clubs by becoming good friends in retirement. <

Stowell Content After Latest Wolves Return
“I’ll settle for that,” said Mike Stowell in Molineux’s gleaming reception area around 11 o’clock last night. He was talking about
the phone message informing him that the car journey back to Bristol with his family should take 1hr 57min. But it was clear that the outcome of on-field events
across a similar span of time – some 98 minutes of play plus 15 of half-time regrouping – had left him satisfied, too.

Familiarity In Outsider’s View Of McGarry
“He was a great manager but, in my opinion, he treated people like dirt.” Based on all we have read and heard over the decades, you would think they are the thoughts of a member of Wolves’ first-team squad on Bill McGarry from the early or mid-1970s. Wrong.

All Hands On Deck In Relegation Fight
So now it is south-east to Germany rather than north-east to Malmo that we will look from a distance in following Rob Kelly’s career in the dug-out. A week and a bit on from Uwe Rosler’s appointment as head coach of Fortuna Dusseldorf, the 55-year-old former Wolves midfielder and youth coach has made the expected same move in his wake.
