Victory Surge Lifts The Mood
Familiar Faces Raising Public Spirits
Robbie Keane and Mike Stowell are still making the absolute best of the move to the Middle East that continues to throw unique challenges at them. The former Wolves duo might have feared their season with Maccabi Tel Aviv would soon be over after the war declared by Israel in the first week of October.
Who Would Have Thought It?
Festive Drama With A Gold And Black Tint
Some Christmas story this has already been – and Wolves’ continuing part in it has the potential to create more drama at Brentford tonight. It started for us with a dramatic home victory over Chelsea in only the second ever Premier League fixture to be played on Christmas Eve.
The Biter Bit!
On Fire – Then Done Up Like Turkeys
We’ve written in Christmases past about the double-header fixtures that were prevalent in the game decades ago. But interesting stories lurk beneath the scorelines of those games, in particular how meetings between the same two clubs barely 24 hours apart could produce such contrasting results.
Great Work, Lads…..’Coaching’ Of The Highest Order!
Heart-Warming Help For Stranded Youngster
Okay, it was an Easter fixture, not a festive one. And it concerns a Wolves visit to a club not currently with them in the top flight. But the message that pours out from it is a warm one that makes this time of year as good as any to give it an airing. We flash back to April, 1968 and the latter stages of the first season after Division One football was restored to Molineux by Ronnie Allen and his players.
A Question Of Timing
Age-Old Dilemma On Blooding Youngsters
How young is too young? How old is old enough? In other words, when should a manager blood the brightest of teenage hopefuls? It is a question that has been asked ever since football itself was introduced to a captive audience and supporters at Molineux, with the club’s proud record of producing their own talent, have debated it as much as any.
Rush Hour Reflections!
A Foot In Both Camps For Serial Promotion Winner
Never before have we featured on this website anyone who played for Albion and has had any absolutely no professional attachment to Molineux. But, if for no other reason than Christmas is approaching and it is the season of goodwill among supporters, please stay with this piece. It has a number of fascinating Wolves angles.

Prize Guy Delivers Another Winner
Right, how much should we give away here? There’s enough in Jason Guy’s latest literary offering to fill three or four posts but our aim is to whet the appetite of potential buyers, not satisfy it. Respectful as we are, we will therefore be selective in how much we disclose so as to ensure there is still considerable curiosity about this outstanding publication among our readers.
Brrrrr, It’s Cold Back Home!
Narrow Win Tops Off A Flying Visit
An under-the-radar trip back to these parts by Neil Emblen has highlighted a remarkable turn-out of former Wolves players at the games against Burnley and Nottingham Forest in the last few days. The man nicknamed ‘Gribbers’ by coach Steve Harrison in 1994 has very rarely been seen at Molineux since he and his family uprooted to New Zealand approaching 20 years ago.
Martin Patching: Our Tribute
Sadness At Death Of Popular Utility Man
Restricted though we have been in our sightings of Martin Patching in the last decade or so, we know he never lost his love of everything gold and black. He was born and raised in South Yorkshire and lived there to the end but his boyhood affections were very much directed towards Molineux, which made his fulfilling career in gold and black the happiest of developments.
Dear Diary Entry 146
Another Good Man Lost
Friday, November 3: Sad to hear that Carlo Federico, a veteran former member of the club’s youth development staff, has died. ‘Chico’, as he was better known, was first recruited as a coach by Paul Darby in the days when Graham Turner was manager and the young Wolves hopefuls trained at East Park.
